A tandem flight is your head start to experience flying under the instruction of licensed and experienced pilots. Both pilot and the passenger each have their own separate harness, in which they are well-seated very comfortably, passenger in front and the pilot right behind.
At take-off, the glide will be laid out flat on the ground. When a gentle gust of wind blows, the pilot (and passenger) will fully inflate the wing by taking a few steps forward. Once inflated, and on the pilot’s command, both will run forward on the downward incline. A few steps more (sometimes one step is enough!) and you will be airborne. Once in the sky and soaring, if the conditions are right and the passenger is willing, the pilot may even turn the controls over to the passenger, and allow them to experience what it is like to fly an unpowered craft.
Tandem flights typically last around 20 minutes on average, depending on weather conditions. A GoPro and selfie stick may also be provided on request, or you could always bring your own camera, as you will be seated comfortably enough to take photos and enjoy the beautiful experience.
Note: We recommend wearing running shoes, and don’t eat heavily before the flight.
